A little about Melody Pena:

M Pena has been credited with creating the first believable renditions of the winged western dragon so loved in fairytales. Her background in animal science and her exceptional imagination has helped her create astoundingly realistic dragons. Pena has surrounded herself with animals since her childhood and at present is never far from her animals. Her glass walled studio is surrounded by a live nature preserve including animals from parakeets to ponies, iguanas, tortoises and llamas. These creatures are the living well from which Pena draws inspiration...the models for the incredibly accuate detail in her work.
